Teacher- A Revolutionary
Teacher- A Revolutionary
Teacher, in a literary term means ‘a person who teaches
in a school. Can there be so narrow meaning of the term which possesses the
power to shape the life of a person? Can it be only limited to a particular
place? To me it is not. I see deep connection between the term teacher
and revolutionary. Revolutionary means ‘The person who brings 360 changes in
the prevailing system’. A change which is bound to bring for overall welfare.
World would have been different, if there would be no revolution around the
world. It has happened all around the world from French Revolution to the
Indian Independence Movement. The key driving force behind all these revolution
was to achieve welfare for all. It aimed at creating an environment having the
air of equality and prosperity. Though it was for all, only few brave hearts
fought for it and they were called revolutionaries.
They selflessly and tenaciously walked on their path in
spite of stones of criticism and tyranny hurled at them. They kept on walking,
bearing physical injuries; some died on the way and while some were able to
achieve their destiny and its results are there in front of us. In their
journey, no one was there to support them, except their own belief and trust on
their self and their love for the freedom. A dream of world without slavery and
oppression.
Now question rises why I am comparing revolutionaries
with teachers. If we see minutely our surrounding, especially the society we
are living in, we are engulfed in the hands of demons of ignorance and blind
faith. Many forces are fighting against this at different levels, but only
teachers are such which are fighting at the grass root level. They have
responsibility of creating the future citizens or if I say a better human being
whose main objective will be welfare of all. Like revolutionaries teachers are
walking on the path of bringing change. Stones of pressures and criticism are
hurled at them. In the battlefield of life they are surrounded with four sides
pressure: society, management, parents and their own financial condition. It is
their love for the children which helps to conquer all the obstacles. It is
their belief that through their efforts and working with children, they will be
able to create a world where there will be no inequality, no injustice and
there will be the environment of harmony and prosperity. I would like to
conclude with a small poem.
Tenaciously teaching the
art of care and welfare
Enhancing the sensitivity
in the hearts of kids
Aspiring to achieve the
success they deserve
Cheerfully doing their
work and setting
Higher and achievable
standards for kids and themselves
Every second prays for
kids
Rises against their
limitations each day.
