Mission Grandma

   Chapter 1

       'Sweet things: Strawberry milkshake or Grandma's Hug!'

Jasmine used to study in grade 2.As there was some technical problem in his school van; she reached half an hour late to home than to his usual time. Van driver had already informed the parents. Jasmine's Mother daily used to go to the gym in the evening around 5 P.M after giving snacks to Jasmine. As she was going to be late today, her mother allotted that work to grandma. Jasmine was very close to her. Both were more into friendship than the relationship of grandma and granddaughter. She returned home at 5.40 P.M. As it was winter it became dark. Sun was preparing for its exit.

"Hello, everyone I am back!" shouted Jasmine loudly and joyously. It was her daily habit of greeting everyone like this.

Today she got no reply. She shouted again, but silence prevailed. Finally, when she got no reply, she went to her mother's room, no one was there; then she went to grandma's room, no one was there.

"Where are all, Let me check in the kitchen. I am sure someone might be there!" Guessed Jasmine and went to the kitchen.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, there was her grandma anxiously waiting for her. She had already made strawberry milkshake for Jasmine. She wanted to give surprise to her. Jasmine was very fond of Strawberry Milkshake. Mere sight of the milkshake, help Jasmine to forget all the toils of the day.

"Wow, Strawberry Milkshake!!" Cheered the Jasmine.

She put the straw inside the glass and

Sipped, Sipped, Sipped, Sipped, finished.

She drank, drank, and drank, relished and relished each drop, when she was done with drinking; she licked the brim of the glass. After glass there was turn of area around her lips. She twirled the tongue and finished the remaining traces of it.

It brought the brightness on her face and happily hugged her grandmother,

"I love you grandma, milkshake was very tasty and relishing. I loved it. I relished it!"

Chapter 2

                                 Grandma's Grief

      Jasmine and her family used to live on the 4^th floor of an old apartment. Jasmine's father was working as an  income tax inspector. As building was quite old, there was no lift facility in it. They used to climb up and climb down the stairs. As grandma was old, she used to remain in the flat only. Since a year, she has mot move down. After the knee cap operation, she used to refrain from making more movements: walking and climbing stairs.

Jasmine bathed, changed her clothes, and was going for playing with her friends: Noah, Theo, Saba, and Rily.They daily used to play in the park nearby the apartment.

When Jasmine was about to leave, she suddenly listened the sobbing from her grandma's room. She suddenly stopped and slowly went near to her room. The door was slightly opened. Instead of going inside, she decided to peep and find out what is happening. She saw that grandma was crying tears were streaming down her wrinkle cheeks. She was muttering, "I also want to go down, move in the city, sit and talk in the park, Alas! I could not do that! I could not climb up or climb down the stairs! I don't like being in home. It feels like prisoner.Oh! God I wish I could also had strength in my legs to climb up and climb down the stairs!

Jasmine listened to whole thing. Tears came to her eyes also. She loved her a lot and she cannot she her in this state. She had never given a thought about this thing. She used to believe that grandma liked to be in home, but today he finally came to know her pain and her wish. She took a vow of fulfilling grandma's wish and moved out.

Chapter 3

Wish and Friend's Discussion

Jasmine closed the door, and climbed down the stairs. Her all four friends have already started playing. As soon as she took entry in the park, all friends came to her. Of all Saba was very close to her. They used to share each and everything. Saba observed her top to down, observed her facial expressions, and make out that something is wrong. Something might have happened to her.

"Why are you looking so gloomy, Jasmine?" asked Saba.

"I am feeling very somber for my Grandma!" replied Jasmine.

"What? What has happened to her?" asked the Noah curiously. He was very impatient and lacked the art of waiting.

Jasmine narrated them the whole story. All five sat in a circle and put the thinking cap on!

They all

taught, taught, and taught for a solution.

Chapter 4

Rise of the commander-in chief and his army

When all were deeply engrossed in deep thinking. They were thinking as they were the only thinker in the world. Noah the impatient one even climbed the neem tree to get the better idea. Theo the lazy but smart one was slowly went into slumber. Saba and Rily were also thinking different alternatives for solving the problem under discussion.

 As if God of the Intelligence and God of the strength have blessed the Jasmine, she got up with an energy and determination and imagined her friends as army and herself as their commander-in chief. She stood in attention position and commanded to her troop.

"Soldeirs, rise up, take your position. We have mission to accomplish!"

 All four felt perplexed, they were surprised and were attempting to make out what Jasmine was saying.

Noah climbed down the tree, Saba and Rily came back to the real world. Theo was still sleeping. Noah went to him and slowly asked him to rise. Theo also became aware. While all four were regaining their senses. Jasmine again commanded.

"Soldiers, Attention!"

 All four without asking any question or clarification stood in the attention position.

Jasmine went on, "Our mission name is 'Operation Grandma'. I have decided the strategy for executing the operation. The strategy name is ' Rapunzel long and strong hair'. I will grow long and strong hair like Rapunzel.

"But how?" interrupted Saba.

"Let me finish, you people will bring hair growing and lengthening shampoo and conditioners from your home and washed my hair with it. We will do this in the watchman's bathroom.

All went to their home and brought back their mother's hair growing and lengthening shampoo and conditioners.

Chapter 5

Tricking the Watchman.

 Army was ready for their mission. They had their weapons: shampoo and conditioners in their hand. Water was already available in the washroom. They were aware that watchman will not allow them to use his bathroom. They had to find out the way to make him away from his place so that they can use the bathroom.

Theo got the idea that he will pretend that he wants to go bakery for purchasing bread for the dinner. He will go the watchman and will ask him to accompany him till there, and by the time they will washed Jasmine's hair in his bathroom.

Theo went to watchman and said in a very polite way, "Watchman uncle, I need your help. I want to buy the bread from the bakery and I am very afraid to go alone there. I am very afraid of stray dogs sitting in the periphery of the bakery. Will you please came with me?

Watchman thought for a second, looked at the innocence face by made Theo and finally got agreed to do so.

Now, ground was clear. Remaining four went inside the bathroom and Jasmine sat down on the plastic stool. Saba, Rily and Noah first washed hair with shampoo, then with conditioners.

They all washed, washed, and washed. Her hair went on increasing in length. They became long, very long, very very long. All were surprised. They all helped her in drying the hair with towel. They also helped her to tie a bun and move out of the washroom. They missed by the second. As soon as they left the washroom and moved out in the compound, they saw Theo coming back with the watchmen uncle. Theo saw them, thanked the watchman uncle and went to them. They gave him the good news.

"Let's go to terrace and checked the strength and length of the hair!" Said the Jasmine.

Chapter 6

Testing Time.

They went to the terrace and Jasmine opened her bun. Hair was very long, she went near the edge of the terrace and from there lowered  her hair, and to her surprise her hair touched the ground. All four took turns and holding the hair climbed down and climbed up. They enjoyed it lot and finally decided to use the same for her grandma. Noah enjoyed like anything. It was an adventure for him and he loved the adventure.

Mission Grandma Execution.

They all went back to Jasmine's home. Grandma was busy with her evening prayer. Jasmines went to her and hold her hand and brought her into the verandah.

"My dear children, what are you doing? Why you people brought me here?" asked the grandma.

"We have surprised for you!" Cheered the Rily.

"Close your eyes grandma." Said Theo.

Grandma closed her eyes and during that time Jasmine opened her bun, spread it and put it down. They were touching ground.

All five spoke in unison, "Grandma opened your eyes!"She opened her eyes and became amazed and perplexed. She was not able to believe her eyes.

"What you did to your hair, my child?"

"Just increased its length to solve your problem." replied the Jasmine.

"My problem, which problem you are talking about?" curiously asked the grandma.

"Your problem of not been able to climb up and climb down the stairs and not be able to move and have free air. With the help of my long hair, you can easily climb up and climb down and can daily go out into the park and enjoy air of the town!" poetically said the Jasmine.

Grandma became very happy, tears came to her eyes.

All five shouted in unison,

"It is not time to cry, it is time to fly!

It is not time to stay; it is time to move away!"

Granma slide down the hair and went to the park with the help of his cane. After a year she visited the park. She saw the trees, flowers, birds, children, dogs, cats, all the people in the park. She sat on the swings and relieved her lost children dream. She walked, talked with people. She was feeling hilarious though very feeble. After some time she again climb up the Jasmine's hair and came inside the flat.

Chapter 8

Comrades, Soldiers, Mission Grandma Accomplished

It was 9 P.M and time for father to return home. Today mother also came back with the father only.

Ting Tong.

Jasmine went and opened the door.

As soon as they entered the flat, they both were surprised to see the Jasmine's hair.

Jasmine and friends narrated them the whole incidence.

"We are very proud of you children! You all are so caring and sensitive towards other's pain and problem. "

"We" Continued the father, "We also have good news for you all. Today only we purchased the flat on the ground floor. Now there is no issue of climbing up and down the stairs. Now grandma can go to park daily."

All were feeling hilarious and relax.

"It is time to party, we are going out for the dinner!" told the mother.

All children lined and stood in an attention position. Jasmine took his position and said.

"Comrades, Soldiers, Mission Grandma Accomplished"
